Common amongst the world as an option for a driveway is asphalt. Not only does asphalt make your road look good, but it is also a durable option that makes your driveway last for a long period. However, when asphalt takes in any stains, especially oil stains, you may not like it. High pressure washers are still the best way to remove oil and other types of stains from an asphalt driveway when you want to clean it. Oil in your driveway is a phenomenon that you can’t stop. As long as the driveway keeps accommodating cars, it’s normal for oil stains to come on the surface of the asphalt.
Apart from the oil stains being very evident and destroying the beauty of the asphalt, it also contributes to the disengagement of the asphalt. If you don’t need your asphalt to get spoil quickly, you may want to use a pressure washer to clear it off immediately. With the appropriate pressure washer, you should wash off the asphalt from your floor relatively easily. You’ll be saving time and stress, but at the same time, you need to have the correct procedure to wash your asphalt off all oil stains perfectly.
Get an appropriate pressure washer
Asphalt is not one of those soft surfaces you can scrub with your hand. Even some types of pressure washers may not do justice to the washing of an asphalt surface. Therefore, if you want to wash asphalt, you need first to get the right type of pressure washer. First, the pressure washer you’re using should be for heavy-duty washing purposes. Also, the power source of your pressure washer also comes to play. Using a pressure washer dependent on the battery shouldn’t be an option for asphalt cleaning. As much as possible, the pressure washer you should be using is the one powered by either gas or electricity. Whichever one you choose, ensure the pounds per square inch (psi) and gallons per minute (GPM) is high.
Get multiple types of pressure washer nozzles
Pressure washer nozzles come in different colours, each having its respective degrees and velocities for washing. If you are washing asphalt, using the 65 degrees a pressure washer nozzle is only a form of deceit. It won’t be an effective way to clean the asphalt. At least your pressure washer nozzle should be as low as 25 degrees or lower.
Clear area of oil stain on pressure washer
Before you start cleaning an asphalt driveway, you need to inspect the area properly. During the inspection, you’re first trying to examine affected areas to ensure no underlying issues with the asphalt. If there are any issues, you may want to fix the problems on the asphalt before you start pressure washing. The pressure coming from the machine may be too high and may cause more damage to the asphalt. But if you don’t see any, you can start to clean all stains properly.
Cleaning asphalt is not an easy task when you want to use a pressure washer. The process may be easy, but the work to do before cleaning is the problem. We have discussed the steps to clean stains from asphalt properly
